Free Passion Play in South Woodham Ferrers
on 18th & 19th April 2014
Last Good Friday and Saturday 19th April in 2014, the town centre of South Woodham Ferrers was “transformed” into Roman Jerusalem to bring to the town the true story of Easter.
The play told the story of Holy Week, leading up to Easter, and the dramatic tale of the Last Supper, Judas’ betrayal, Jesus’ trial and his crucifixion and resurrection. Drawn straight from the original accounts in the Bible, the production tells the tale faithfully and accessibly, with modern language and realistic performances
We hope to inspire other places in Essex to produce Passion Plays for 2016, 2017 and 2018. Basildon, Chelmsford, Colchester, Harlow, Southend? Burnham, Brentwood, Ongar, Saffron Walden, Wickford? Large place or small place? Anything is possible.
Might you catch this vision and make it happen? Everyone welcome: individuals and groups.
