In rural Galilee, Jesus is moving from town to town, attracting crowds with his inspirational words and miraculous powers. He is also attracting enemies. A Pharisee named Simon is furious that Jesus is breaking the rules of Judaism.
In Jerusalem, Simon’s complaints seem trivial to the High Priest Caiaphas. He is far more worried about the number of Jews being brutally killed by Governor Pilate. Then, the week before Passover, Jesus arrives in Jerusalem, openly declaring that he is the Messiah.
Fearing a popular uprising followed by Roman reprisals, and angry when Jesus throws the money changers out of the temple, Caiaphas looks for a way to stop the troublemaker and hits upon Judas. At the Last Supper, Jesus startles his disciples with a number of predictions.
